I'm Karen Gruener and I teach second grade at Cedar Hollow School (Northwest Public Schools) in Grand Island, Nebraska. I love technology and I'm always looking for ways to get my students excited about learning new concepts. Most of my day is spent teaching Language Arts. It's very important to me to develop great readers.
I enjoy using the IPads with my class. I like to have my students practice reading stories and then record their voices to create a book on tape in a new twist. My second graders have become pros on recording their voices and creating QR codes. We like to have our Kindergarten and 1st grade friends listen to our books. It's been a great motivator for my students to become better readers.
